Fall News and Updates

November 2024

This fall, members of NHCCC performed a “Fall and Harvest” program at Ansonia High School for an enthusiastic student body. We performed songs inspired by the harvest season and gave a presentation on the significance of harvest moon to the Chinese people. We are currently developing more programs that integrate music and culture. Please contact us about programs and workshops!

NHCCC was recently featured in the beautifully written article by Anna Youtz, “Melodies of Home, Stringing Together Two Continents” in Mochi Mag, “the longest-running digital publication for Asian American women.” At NHCCC, we are so proud to partner with organizations such as Mochi in supporting the AAPI community.

This fall, NHCCC has grown. Welcome to our new members! We are now a 20-member ensemble, playing a variety of instruments. Our weekly rehearsals are open to public and would love for community friends to visit. Just contact us and we will send you an invitation!

Looking ahead, everyone is invited to our winter program, featuring music, poetry, and a series of narratives from southeast China and Taiwan. Mark your calendar for the evening of Sunday, December 15, 2024. Admission is free with registration. Follow us on our Facebook Page and Instagram to reserve your seat when registration begins on December 1.

Lastly, through our work, NHCCC continues to follow its mission in bridging cultural differences in our community. To do so, we are asking you to support us by making donations, so we can keep bringing programing to work towards a more inclusive environment for our friends and neighbors.
