We are back for another year of exciting programs! With Mid-Autumn Festival right around the corner, members of NHCCC will bring an hour of music, stories, and interesting cultural facts about the harvest season to Westport Library as we await the arrival of this traditional holiday. This event is co-sponsored by the Westport Library and Westport AAPI. Register for your free ticket now!

Sunday 9/28/2025 (2-3 pm): Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival

 

This year, NHCCC is having an earlier than usual seasonal concert. Thanks to Wesleyan University Music Department for hosting and sponsoring. We are so grateful for their commitment to ethnomusicology and their support for the arts. Rehearsals for this concert have already started and we are well underway for bringing you new songs including 陽明春曉 (Spring dawn at Yangming Mountain) featuring Frank on the bamboo transverse flute and 驚鴻舞 (Jinghong Dance) featuring Jiayan, our very own traditional Chinese dancer. This Fall, we welcome new members to NHCCC: “Alice (dizi), Lucas (yangqin), and Mengxi (erhu), we are so glad you are going to make music with us this year!”
 

Thanks to our donors and supporters again. Due to our success at last year’s Great Give, we are able to offer highly subsidized programing to some untraditional and underfunded community places in our upcoming season, in hopes of reach new audiences who have not yet heard the beautiful sounds of traditional Chinese and Taiwanese music. We still have slots for a few more qualifying organizations. For information, please contact us to find out more.
 

NHCCC holds open rehearsals, meaning that we welcome community members to come and see how we work. Please contact us for more details. And if you already play an instrument and would like to set up an audition with us, please email us. We are currently booking performances for the year of 2026 and spring of 2027. If you are interested in having us perform at your event, please also email.
