Time of Changes Starting this fall, NHCCC is moving its rehearsal venue from our much-beloved location on Yale campus to Bethesda Church just up the street. We look forward to working with our generous partners at Bethesda! As we near the end of my term as Board President and the start of my leave as chief administrator, we are excited to announce that Professor Mary Lui will chair the Board in the next season. Mary has been playing the dizi (bamboo flute) with NHCCC in the past two years. As a member of the Board, Mary led the Transitional Taskforce and facilitated important conversations as NHCCC evolved as a community music ensemble. Also joining the Board are Frank Parker (musician and educator), who has been playing the dizi with NHCCC for two years and serving on NHCCC committees, and Charlotte Zhang (finance, reporting, tax compliance, HR management, CPA), who has been volunteering at events and helping out with bookkeeping. Charlotte will also serve as our Treasurer. We want to thank Gary Martin for his service on the Board for the past two years. Last but not least, I’d like to welcome Corinne Evans (best known as emcee extraordinaire at NHCCC shows) as our Executive Director. Corinne will be working closely with NHCCC Artistic Director, Dr. Joy Lu, on event production and rehearsal logistics. Meanwhile, I will continue to help out with some behind-the-scene tasks to ensure a smooth transition.
