Dear NHCCC Community, As the new President of the NHCCC board of directors, it's my great honor to welcome you to another year of exciting performances celebrating the diverse musical cultures of China and Taiwan! I am stepping into big shoes left behind by Lely Evans, NHCCC co-founder and Board President for the last three years. Along with our music director and co-founder Joy Lu, Lely has been at the heart of the resounding success of the organization: attracting new ensemble players and board members like myself, organizing our many musical performances and community celebrations such as Lunarfest, and spearheading our "888 Great Give" initiative where we have brought our music to audiences at Music Haven and Hamden's Miller Memorial Library. I will do my best to continue the work started by Lely and work to grow the musical and community spirit of NHCCC. I am pleased to announce an exciting development in NHCCC staffing. Corinne Evans has joined us as our inaugural Executive Director! With our tremendous growth in these last few years, it became apparent that we needed a dedicated Executive Director. Corinne will be bringing her extensive organizing and production management experience to the role and work in tandem with our Musical Director to support our ensemble members and performances. In our new season, we will continue to strengthen our musicianship and explore the vast musical world of Chinese and Taiwanese music under the baton of Joy Lu. We will be performing throughout New Haven and the state of Connecticut in a variety of venues from community festivals, libraries, and more. And we are looking forward to our exciting collaboration with the Civic Orchestra of New Haven, which will culminate in our winter concert on January 30th. This is one of the two concert series brought to you with partial support from the International Association of New Haven (IANHV). Please save the date!
