Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Fall is the season of harvest, reunion, homecoming, and nostalgia. This year, NHCCC is having its first seasonal concert in October. Thanks to Wesleyan University Music Department for hosting and sponsoring. We are so grateful for their commitment to ethnomusicology and their support for the arts. We will be bringing you new songs including 陽明春曉 (Spring dawn at Yangming Mountain) featuring Frank on the bamboo transverse flute and 驚鴻舞 (Jinghong Dance) featuring Jiayan, our very own traditional Chinese dancer, both accompanied by the ensemble. Our guzheng players are sharing an exciting duet 雲之南, a medley of Yunnan tunes. For the ensemble, we are presenting a Taiwanese suite of folk tunes (A Chirping Bird 一隻鳥仔哮啾啾/Little Cowherd 小牧童/White Egret 白鷺鷥), arranged by NHCCC artistic director, Joy Chia-Yu Lu. Finally, due to popular demand, we are bringing back some audience favorites, too.
